Visitor Record
A Visitor Record is an official document issued by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that allows foreign nationals to extend their stay in Canada as a visitor. Unlike a visa, a visitor record does not grant entry into Canada but serves as proof that you are authorized to stay in the country for a specified period. If you wish to extend your visit or change the conditions of your stay, you must apply for a visitor record.
Who Needs a Visitor Record?
A Visitor Record is required for individuals who are already in Canada on a temporary basis and wish to extend their stay or change the conditions of their visit. If you are a tourist, business visitor, or any other temporary resident, and your status is about to expire, you will need to apply for a visitor record to remain in Canada legally.
